Theatre was being asked to direct for its "Rescue" Series. "Porgy" by Heywood and Dorothy Duboise. The production is an unforgettable experience. This show is also an example of what happens outside of the box in reader's theatre.

This production embraces dance, music, drama, poems and songs, featuring the classic works of Countee Cullen, Langston Hughes, Robert Hayden, Richard Wright, Margaret Walker, Sterling A. Brown and James Weldon Johnson. These giants of poems illuminate the core of the African experience in Africa and in America. Designed to teach junior and senior high school students the basics of theater and poetry including marketing, stage management and production.
